Happy Cats Behaviour is based on the NSW Central Coast. Dr Annette is a small animal veterinarian with over 25 years experience working in small animal private practice. She graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (Hons 1) in 1999, and has lived and worked on the Central Coast since 2002.
Dr Annette has had a passion for feline medicine since starting out as a vet in 2000, and has undergone numerous courses and continued study in feline medicine, including Feline Medicine Distance Education with the Centre for Veterinary Education (within the University of Sydney), and various courses as a long-term member of the International Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM - now Ínternational Cat Care Veterinary Society') and of the American Association of Feline Practitioners (now 'Feline Veterinary Medical Association - FVMA'). For the past ten years Dr Annette has also held a strong interest in veterinary behaviour, having most recently undertaken further studies with the Centre for Veterinary Education throughout 2024, via the Veterinary Behavioural Medicine Distance Education course.
Current professional memberships include: International Cat Care Veterinary Society, Feline Veterinary Medical Association, Fear Free TM and the Centre for Veterinary Education. Following courses undertaken to receive these certifications in 2025 and 2023, Dr Annette is a:
- Feline Veterinary Medical Association Cat Friendly Veterinarian;
- International Cat Care Cat Friendly Veterinary Practitioner;
- Fear Free Certified Veterinary Professional.
Most importantly, Dr Annette loves cats! She has had cats in her life since she can remember, and is currently the guardian and companion of an affectionate ginger named Macavity.
