Dr Annette Lockley
Happy Cats Behaviour is based on the NSW Central Coast. Dr Annette is a small animal GP veterinarian with over 25 years experience working in small animal private practice. She graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (Hons 1) in 1999, and has lived and worked on the Central Coast since 2002. Dr Annette has had a passion for feline medicine since starting out as a vet in 2000, and has undergone numerous courses and continued study in feline medicine, including Feline Medicine Distance Education with the Centre for Veterinary Education (within the Univeristy of Sydney), and various courses as a long-term member of the International Society of Feline Medicine - (ISFM, now 'International Cat Care') and past member of the American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP, now 'Feline Veterinary Medical Association'). For the past ten years Dr Annette has also held a strong interest in veterinary behaviour, having most recently undertaken further studies in 2024 with the Centre for Veterinary Education, via the Distance Education Behavioural Medicine Course. Current professional memberships include International Cat Care, Fear Free TM and the Centre for Veterinary Education (within the University of Sydney). Dr Annette is an International Cat Care Cat Friendly Veterinary Practitioner and Fear Free Certified Professional, following courses undertaken to receive these certifications in 2023.
Most importantly, Dr Annette loves cats! She has had cats in her life since she can remember, and is currently the guardian and companion of an affectionate ginger named Macavity.
